Maintenance Worker - Operations & Maintenance

The Operations and Maintenance Department is currently recruiting applicants to fill temporary/seasonal positions up to 40 hours a week to assist in the day-to-day maintenance of Streets, Fleet, Utility, and Park & Building Maintenance. Opportunities are available at a variety of skills and levels from unskilled to skilled laborers.

NOTE:  If age 17 or do not have Driver's License, may operate small equipment only.   

  • If age 17 and no driver's license, pay is $14.91/hour.   

  • If age 17 with driver's license, pay is $15.36/hour.  

  • If age 18 and no driver's license, pay is $15.91-18.47/hour.

2024 Arbor Day Tree Sale!

Each year, Brooklyn Park celebrates Arbor Day by selling a variety of trees to residents at wholesale prices!

The trees are sold in bare root form. The average caliper size of these trees is 1 to 1.5 inches with an average height of 8 to 10 feet. These bare root trees do not meet newly constructed home landscape requirements of 2 inches.

For best results, the trees should be planted the same day they are picked up. Trees will be available for pick up Saturday May 4, 2024, 8-11 a.m.

COST: $59 (tax included)

How to order

Orders received after April 28, 2024 may not be accepted or filled, due to a limited supply. Trees will be available for pick up Saturday May 4, 2024.

Notice of Availability for the NorthPark Biz Center Alternative Urban Areawide Review

Brooklyn Park, Minn. –  As the Responsible Governmental Unit (RGU), the City of Brooklyn Park has prepared an Alternative Urban Areawide Review (AUAR) Update for the NorthPark Business Center develop-ment.

​

The NorthPark Business Center is located on approximately 227 acres of land south of 109th Avenue N, between US 169 and Winnetka Avenue N in Brooklyn Park. The development to date includes 13 industrial buildings have been developed or are under construction within the study area. The city is updating the AUAR and Mitigation Plan, originally adopted in 2018 per Minnesota Rules, part 4410.3610, subpart 7. An updated scenario, Scenario 2024-D, has been devel- oped to reflect the existing and future development of the study area. The AUAR Update studies Scenario 2024-D, which includes 2,601,000 square feet of development that is existing, under construction, and remaining to be built.

Registration is FREE and open to youth looking to build and advance their professional skills. If you are looking to participate in the 2024 BrookLynk's Summer Internships Registration open February 12!

 

Are you interested in participating in a Paid Summer Internship with BrookLynk this year? BrookLynk's 2024 summer internship application opens on February 12 and closes on March 31. Here’s what you need to know about the BrookLynk summer internship:

  • For ages 16-24, who live/go to school in Brooklyn Park or Brooklyn Center.

  • Must complete the training to apply for internships.

  • The summer internships start on June 17th-August 23rd, though each internship may differ per need (6-10 weeks).

  • Anywhere from 20-40 hours per week.

  • Pay range is from $15-$21/hr.

  • Interns are provided a job coach and continuous professional development throughout the summer.

  • In-person, hybrid, and virtual positions available.
